AI disclosure

With the wide availability of generative AI, new responsibilities emerge. While there is no consensus on how to navigate these responsibilities, I maintain that transparency about the use of AI is crucial, especially when it pertains to explaining its application. That's why I am openly disclosing the use of AI in this blog.

AI is used to:

  • Correct spelling and grammar mistakes
  • Rephrase sentences to improve readability
  • Ensure proper tone and style

AI is not used to:

  • Generate content from scratch
  • Generate personal opinions or anectodes
  • Generate research, while it may be used to find relevant sources

This list is not exhaustive and may change over time, but my intention is to be as transparent as possible while we learn to apply AI wisely. The short version is that all editorial decisions are made by me, and AI is used to assist and not create content.

Example on how AI is used

The following was the original first paragraph of this page:

With the availability of generative AI new responsibilities arise with it. While there's no consensus on how to handle these responsiblities, I believe that we should be open about the use of AI, specially when it comes to inform how it was used. This is why I'm disclosing the use of AI in this blog.

The following is the same paragraph after being corrected by AI:

With the advent of generative AI, new responsibilities concurrently emerge. While there is no consensus on how to navigate these responsibilities, I maintain that transparency about the use of AI is crucial, especially when it pertains to explaining its application. That's why I am openly disclosing the use of AI in this blog.

And the one used in the beginning of this page is after I reviewed and changed a couple words to better fit my style.
